Project Dressing Room - Phase Three

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll probably know that we've been renovating our spare room to turn it into a dressing room. We've been doing this in a few phases (read about phase one and phase two) and I'm delighted that we've finally finished it and have moved in all of our clothes!!

I absolutely love it and it's turned out exactly as I'd pictured it. So without further ado, I'll share it with you...



As the room is quite small, it's actually quite difficult to photo! I've tried to take the shots from lots of different angles to give you a good feel for the room.

Along one wall we have mirrored PAX wardrobes from good old Ikea and the other has a MALM Ikea dressing table. The mirror and stool were also from Ikea.




On the dressing table, I've used a couple of candle trays as holders for perfumes and little pieces of jewellery (or my running watch, as shown the the photo!). These are so cheap, but are really useful and keep everything together nicely. They also make wiping the table easier as you can move everything really easily.


The above glass trinket jar was a bargain from Homebase - it was about £1.50 in the sale. I think it's really pretty and is perfect for storing cotton wool pads.


The jewellery box was also from Homebase and another bargain at £6.50! It fits all my jewellery in perfectly and really fits the theme of the room.


To add a bit of fragrance, I've added a couple of cheapy candles one was £2 from Ikea and the other was £1.50 from Home Bargains. Both smell lovely. The photo frame (which needs a photo adding) was from Tesco and was another bargain at £2!


Underneath the dressing table I've got a plastic white box, which I use to store my hairdryer, straightners and hairspray. It helps keep everything looking neat and tidy. The box was also from Ikea and cost around £5.


On the window cill, I've got a couple of cute candles that a friend gave my as a birthday gift, along with a vase from TK Maxx that I've had about 3 years.


To fit with the theme of the room, we changed the curtain pole. We used to have a white wooden one and we've replaced it with a chunky modern chrome pole, which has two gorgeous crystal bits on each end - I love it and didn't think it was too bad at £29.99 from Argos. The curtains were £25 from Next.

So there we have it, our sparkly new dressing room. I love getting ready in there as it's (currently) so organised and calming - it's a great way to start the day :-)
